WHAT IS THE OPPORTUNITY?
Responsible for actively promoting and maintaining a safe working environment by conducting inspections, investigating incidents, developing training, ensuring compliance, and advising management on risk mitigation. Travel to terminal locations throughout Canada and the U.S. is required.
WHAT WILL YOU DO?
- Safety Inspections and Audits
- Conduct regular inspections and audits to identify hazards and non‑compliance.
- Support the health and safety management system.
- Incident Investigation
- Investigate all workplace incidents, determine root causes, and implement corrective actions.
- Safety Training and Education
- Develop and deliver training programs on hazard recognition, PPE, emergency procedures, and more.
- Facilitate specialized training such as LOTOTO, confined space, arc flash, working at heights, CPR/First Aid/AED.
- Policy Development and Implementation
- Assist in creating, updating, and enforcing safety policies and procedures.
- Risk Assessment and Mitigation
- Perform risk assessments and develop strategies to reduce workplace hazards.
- Incident Reporting and Analysis
- Maintain accurate incident records and analyze data for trends.
- Communication and Awareness
- Promote a safety culture through meetings, posters, and other channels.
- Compliance Management
- Ensure compliance with OSHA, OHSA, CNESST, Department of Labour, WorkSafeNB, CSA, ANSI, and corporate standards.
- Collaboration with Management and Stakeholders
- Work closely with management to address safety concerns and provide recommendations.
- Safety Culture Focused
- Lead a positive safety culture where everyone is committed to safety.

- OSHA, OHSA, CNESST, Department of Labour, WorkSafeNB, CSA, ANSI, and company standards.

- Proficient with Microsoft Office, eCompliance, Avetta, Power BI, and advanced Excel.
WHAT DO YOU NEED TO SUCCEED?
- Bachelor's degree (BSc or BEng) or equivalent education and experience.
- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience,
preferably in the building construction materials industry.
- Accredited safety program and direct safety supervision experience count as equivalent.
- Professional safety certifications such as CRSP, OHSA 30 (asset).
- Bilingual English/French is an asset.
Other Requirements
- Travel Requirement
- Frequent travel up to 50% of the time to terminal locations; clean driving licence required.
- Occasional travel to the United States; passport required or to be obtained.
- Physical Demands
- Moderate physical activity: prolonged walking, standing, ladder use, sustained keyboarding, lifting up to 20 lbs.
- Work Environment
- Exposure to elements on an industrial site, dust, noise, etc.
- Requires concentration on sensory inputs for long periods.

82,000 - 102,000 CAD
