The Director of Exploration provides strategic leadership and technical oversight for all exploration activities across the Company's gold exploration portfolio in Québec. This role is responsible for developing and executing exploration strategies that identify, evaluate, and advance high-quality gold projects from grassroots exploration through resource definition. The Director of Exploration leads multidisciplinary technical teams, manages exploration budgets, ensures regulatory compliance, and works closely with executive leadership to support the Company's long-term growth strategy.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement the Company's exploration strategy aligned with corporate objectives.
- Build and maintain a high-quality pipeline of exploration opportunities through property acquisition, partnerships, and organic exploration.
- Prioritize exploration programs based on technical merit, risk, and return on investment.
- Lead exploration programs that support Mineral Resource estimation.
- Work closely with internal and external resource estimation consultants.
- Maintain high technical standards across all exploration activities.
- Mentor and develop exploration geologists and technical staff.
- Promote the application of modern exploration techniques, geostatistics, and geological modelling.
- Prepare annual exploration budgets and multi-year exploration plans.
- Manage exploration expenditures and forecast project costs.
- Evaluate capital allocation across exploration projects.
- Ensure cost-effective delivery of exploration programs.
- Report exploration performance against budget and key performance indicators.
- Manage consultants, drilling contractors, laboratories, and exploration service providers.
- Foster collaboration across geology, engineering, workplace, finance, and operations teams.
- Promote diversity, inclusion, and continuous professional development.
- Support investor presentations and technical due diligence activities.
- Build strong relationships with landholders, Indigenous communities, contractors, and regulatory authorities.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Geology, Earth Sciences, or a related discipline.
- Master's degree in Economic Geology or a related field is considered an asset.
- Registered Professional Geoscientist (P.Geo.) or eligible for registration in Québec.
- Minimum 7–10 years in senior leadership or exploration management roles.
- Demonstrated success discovering and advancing gold deposits.
- Experience working in Québec is strongly preferred.
