THE ROLE

As a Store Manager, you provide retail services to a unique client base - members of the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) and in assisting them, you are helping your community. You manage the store operations: maintaining and maximizing sales while controlling expenditures and reviewing stock relative to sales and gross profit, taking corrective action if needed. You ensure the latest market changes, operating procedures and corporate selling practices are applied and provide coaching to employees regarding these practices.

The Store Manager develops marketing strategies and ensures effective use of advertising material and in-store signage. You use proper layout and display techniques for merchandise,



ensuring the overall visual aspect of the store creates a favorable customer impression. You prepare budget estimates, monitor revenue and expenses, prepare reports regarding sales volumes, merchandising, gross profits, and loss prevention. You act as the CANEX local representative and ensure local concessionaire’s corporate objectives are achieved.

QUALIFICATIONS NEEDED

- Education, Certifications and Licenses
- Food Handling Certification, as required
- Experience in retail operations management
- Experience in planning, managing and evaluating the operations and delivery of marketing and promotional programs for retail products and/or services
- Experience in business planning and budgeting
- Experience in cost-benefit analysis
- Experience in preparing reports
- Experience in budget administration
- Experience in personnel administration
- Experience in drafting, editing, and interpreting policies/procedures for merchandise and services
- Experience in developing marketing and promotional strategies
- Experience in building and mentoring a team of sales people
- Experience in applying policies, procedures, and regulations
- Experience in using inventory information software

LANGUAGE REQUIREMENTS

- English Essential, Bilingual (English and French) an asset
- Reading: Advanced
- Writing: Functional

- Perform moderate lifting, carrying, pulling and/or pushing (i.e. more than 10 lbs/4.5 kg but less than 50 lbs/23 kg)
- This is an on-site position with an assigned work location.
- The anticipated term of this position is 2 years.
