Job Description
AECOM ’s Markham office is seeking a motivated Hydraulic Analysis Modeller in a new position involving infrastructure planning and hydraulic modeling to support municipal projects.
The successful candidate will provide technical and program support on a variety of municipal planning projects, including water and sewer master plans and asset management plans, with a focus on water and sanitary modeling projects. This role supports a variety of project work within AECOM and requires a professional who can work well with others as part of a team.
The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
- Performs specific and moderate portions of a broader assignment of an experienced engineer.
- Gathers and correlates basic engineering data using established and well-defined procedures.
- Performs tasks related to hydraulic modelling, including SCADA data review, GIS information processing, fieldwork planning, hydraulic analyses, and documentation of findings, under the guidance of an experienced engineer.
- Works on detailed or routine engineering assignments involving calculations and relatively simple tests.
- Proposes approaches to solve new problems encountered using modifications of standard procedures or methods developed in previous assignments.
- Identifies discrepancies in results.
- Performs work in accordance with agreed upon budget and schedule with some supervision.
- Developmental experience in a professional position is required for this level.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field,
or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
- Knowledge related to water and sanitary sewer system design, hydraulic modelling and infrastructure planning
- Basic knowledge of and ability to work with GIS
- ON Class G Driving license (or equivalent) required
Preferred Qualifications:
- 1-2+ years of relevant experience with municipal projects involving infrastructure planning and hydraulic modeling.
- Registered as EIT or P.Eng with PEO or ability to become registered within 6 months
- Software platforms of interest include InfoWater Pro, WaterCAD, InfoSWMM, InfoWorks CS, XP SWMM, SewerGEMS, PC SWMM, and ESRI’s ARC Map

- Relocation is not available for this position.
- Sponsorship for Canadian employment authorization is not available for this position.
