Position Summary:

This role oversees daily transportation operations within a fast-paced, high-volume distribution environment. The Supervisor is responsible for labour planning, dispatch coordination, delivery execution, equipment utilization, and frontline employee support to ensure protected, efficient, and reliable service delivery.

This position requires a hands-on leader who can manage performance in a unionized setting, maintain strong safety and operational standards, address service or productivity gaps, and partner effectively with cross-functional teams to support continuous improvement.

Shift Schedule: Wednesday to Saturday: 7:00pm to 5:00am

Key Accountabilities may include, but are not limited to:

- Coordinate daily and weekly staffing plans, work assignments, and shift priorities to support service requirements while managing overtime effectively
- Lead daily communication with employees, including safety updates, operational priorities, employee questions, and team feedback
- Oversee dispatch coordination, delivery schedules, route planning inputs, and transportation system updates to support efficient execution
- Manage workflow in alignment with applicable collective agreement requirements, operational procedures, and legislative standards
- Track, analyze, and report on key operational metrics, including productivity, reliability, equipment utilization, fuel, mileage, service, and delivery performance




- Review driver trip records, payroll entries, employee bid information, and related operational documentation for accuracy and compliance
- Coach, train, and provide direction to employees to support performance, accountability, and adherence to standard operating procedures
- Conduct near miss, injury, and collision investigations, ensuring corrective actions are completed and communicated as appropriate
- Partner with internal teams and service providers to resolve service issues, monitor performance, and support quality, cost, and delivery expectations
- Support compliance with internal standards, industry requirements, transportation regulations, and applicable legislative requirements.

Required Qualifications and Experience:

- 3 to 5 years of experience in high-volume distribution, logistics, or a unionized operational environment, with 1 to 3 years of progressive supervisory or people leadership experience preferred
- Strong computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
- Experience with routing, dispatch, or onboard transportation software is considered an asset
- Demonstrated leadership capability with the ability to coach, engage, and hold teams accountable
- Strong analytical thinking and practical problem-solving skills
- Ability to work effectively in a rapid-paced, high-pressure environment with competing priorities
