Siemens Energy is currently seeking highly talented and motivated candidates for a Wind Technician position at our Blue Hill wind farm. Safety and Quality form a central part of our culture, and the ideal candidate will have a strong focus on both. The candidate will work together with a multi-disciplinary group to ensure top performance on our wind farms. The ideal candidate has the ability to work a flexible schedule, on-call, along with the ability to analyze and resolve problems independently and efficiently. They will provide excellent service to our customers, have the ability to work on complex systems in challenging environments, and participate in the development of new field procedures and best practices.

Responsibilities

- Responsible for the service, maintenance and troubleshooting of Siemens Gamesa SG4X wind turbines at our Herbert location.
- Provide excellent service to our customers by completing services and paperwork on time.
- The work environment entails working inside the wind turbine enclosure at an elevated height of approximately 300 feet.
- Extensive training and testing will be provided covering safety and technical job requirements.
- Physical requirements of the job include but are not limited to: ladder climbing, stairs, standing for long periods, walking, lifting, bending, twisting, work above shoulders, pushing, pulling, exposure to vibration, chemicals, confined spaces and extreme weather conditions.
- Capable of efficiently taking on additional roles and responsibilities at an operating wind farm.

What You Bring

- Demonstrated knowledge in electrical systems including PLC programming and converters.
- Demonstrated ability to work safely and effectively in a team environment.
- Solid ability to organize and plan daily/weekly work with a high level of quality orientation, and to analyze and resolve problems independently with a high level of results orientation.
- Good computer skills, competent in the use of Microsoft platforms like Outlook and Excel.
- Must be eligible to hold a valid Passport and Driver’s License. Must be legally able to work in Canada.

Le candidat idéal a la capacité de travailler selon un horaire flexible, sur appel, ainsi que d’analyser et de résoudre des problèmes de manière autonome et efficace. Il devra offrir un excellent service à nos clients, avoir la capacité de travailler sur des systèmes complexes dans des environnements exigeants, et participer à l’élaboration de nouvelles procédures et de pratiques exemplaires sur le terrain.

Ce que vous apporterez à l’entreprise

- Assurer l’entretien, la maintenance et le dépannage des éoliennes SG4X de Siemens Gamesa à notre parc éolien de Herbert, près de Lomond, en Alberta.
- Offrir un excellent service à nos clients en exécutant les services et en remplissant les documents dans les délais prévus.
- L’environnement de travail exige que le candidat retenu travaille à l’intérieur de la nacelle d’éoliennes à une hauteur d’environ 300 pi.
- Une formation intensive sur la sécurité et les exigences techniques liées au poste sera offerte et suivie d’examens.
- Les exigences physiques du poste comprennent notamment les suivantes : escalader des échelles, monter des marches (au moins 267), se tenir debout pendant de longues périodes, marcher, soulever des charges, effectuer des mouvements de torsion et de flexion, travailler au-dessus des épaules, pousser/tirer, être exposé à des vibrations, à des produits chimiques et à des conditions météorologiques extrêmes, et travailler dans des espaces clos.
- Avoir la capacité d’assumer efficacement des rôles et des responsabilités supplémentaires dans un parc éolien en exploitation.
