Maintenance Technician
Full‑Time
What you’ll do
- Reporting to the Maintenance Manager and Asset & Protection Manager, you are responsible for assisting in organizing installation, regular repair, and maintenance of all Legacy Co‑op facilities and their assets.
- Assisting and working collaboratively with all contracted services and department managers for maintenance in adherence to the contracts, timelines, and repairs required. Report any non‑compliance or concerns of the contracted services to the Maintenance Manager.
- Have a solid understanding of applicable legislation and bylaws, and assist and participate in the short‑ and long‑term maintenance repair program for Legacy Co‑op facilities and their assets.
- Develop and maintain a positive, collaborative working relationship with all contracted services, managers, and team members by responding to and assisting with work requests on Limble in a timely manner.
- Model and facilitate a culture of safety at all locations, support and work with management and department managers to coordinate, schedule, and train employees, ensuring they are educated on expectations regarding asset protection, preventive measures, day‑to‑day maintenance, and safety.
- Document, communicate, and prioritize current and future preventive maintenance for all assets, ensuring satisfactory completion of all work requests on Limble.
- Assist the Maintenance Manager with the design and construction of renovation projects.
Who you are
- Grade 12 certificate.
- Valid Class 5 licence and maintain it throughout employment.
- Occupational Health and Safety, Level I and II, WHMIS, CPR, and First Aid or willing to obtain.
- At least 2 years of experience in facility/equipment repair and maintenance administration, implementing preventive and corrective maintenance programs.
- Must possess/demonstrate accountability, collaboration, and experience dealing with emergencies, problem‑solving, and the ability to set, prioritize, and adjust work‑request schedules as required (mandatory).
- Journeyperson certifications (electrical and plumbing) or certifications in related trades, and/or project management would be an asset.
- Retail training and experience in areas of asset protection, maintenance repair, and replacement.
- Ability to communicate effectively with all levels across the organization.
- Robust organizational and time‑management skills, with the ability to maintain focus while working independently, setting goals with measurable outcomes.
