Optical Associate

Our FYidoctors Wolfville, FYidoctors Berwick and FYidoctors New Minas clinics are looking for someone with exceptional skills and experience to join us as an Optical Associate. This role will enhance the lives of our patients every day, delivering exceptional vision and eyewear experiences in a agile, rewarding, and collaborative environment.

This is a full‑time role until December 31, 2026, working 30–40 hours per week. Our clinic is open Monday to Saturday.

What You’ll Do

- Greet and welcome patients to the clinic and engage with patients in person, by phone, and via email.
- Educate patients on eyewear options tailored to their lifestyle, assisting with frame selection to ensure optimal value, quality, aesthetics, and performance.
- Interpret optical prescriptions provided by the optometrist.
- Perform frame and facial measurements, ensuring proper fit and positioning of new eyewear, as well as repairs and adjustments.
- Coordinate appointments and prepare prescription printouts.
- Manage billing and payments for patients, insurers, and other third parties.
- Assist with contact lens fittings and process contact lens orders.
- Deliver exceptional customer service, ensuring a positive patient experience.
- Support clinic operations by performing additional duties as required.

What You Bring

- Previous optical experience or retail experience is considered an asset.
- Ability to multi‑task and thrive in a fast‑paced environment.
- Proficiency with technology and computers, including MS Office Suite.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills,



with a passion for connecting with patients and delivering exceptional patient experiences.
- A collaborative, adaptable, and proactive team player with a growth mindset, able to manage changing priorities effectively.
