Job Summary

Senior Cybersecurity Analyst – Remote (optional on‑site in Toronto until late 2026; later at Mississauga). Requires current work authorization in Canada. Contact ending January7,2027.

Responsibilities

- Analyze security logs and system data to detect anomalous or irregular events.
- Execute cyber‑management processes to respond to, investigate, and report on security incidents.
- Maintain and update security tools and technologies such as malware detection, DDoS, IDS/IPS, DLP, anti‑spam.
- Monitor and analyze system activity continuously using provided tools and trigger mitigations.
- Coordinate with other departments to update rules and signatures across intrusion detection, anti‑virus, and content blacklists.
- Identify and recommend actions to address vulnerabilities and inconsistencies in security processes.
- Conduct research, trend analysis, correlation, and reporting from internal and external data sets (network, OS, database, application logs).
- Provide timely alerts of potential attacks, intrusions, and misuse activities and distinguish them from benign events.
- Perform event correlation and situational awareness to assess attack effectiveness.
- Analyze malicious activities to determine exploitation methods and impact.
- Lead or participate in cyber incident detection, investigation, and response.
- Assist in cybersecurity awareness and training exercises.
- Advise on cybersecurity policies, industry standards, best practices, and strategies.
- Participate in on‑call and shift rotation when required.
- Deliver summary reports of network events and activity for CDO, including trend analysis.

Qualifications





- University degree (Bachelor’s) in a related field.
- At least 3 years of experience in information security or cybersecurity.
- Minimum 2 years of incident response experience in a SOC environment, including leading incident response.
- Experience with threat hunting.
- Strong knowledge of cybersecurity detection and response methodologies and a broad range of security tools.
- Clear understanding of the incident‑response lifecycle.
- Excellent communication and reporting skills with ability to document incidents and collaborate across teams.
- Proven capability to identify anomalous behavior, assess threats, and determine impact and root cause.
- Familiarity with the threat landscape, common attack vectors, and security control configurations.
- Knowledge of enterprise‑wide security architecture and how network, application, and host‑based controls integrate.
- Certifications are a plus: OSCP, CASP, ISACA CDPSE, SANS 504/503/500, GCIH, GREM, GXPN, InfoSec Security Engineering.

Compensation and Benefits

This is a contract role with an hourly compensation model ranging from $54.00 to $71.00, depending on experience and qualifications.
