Position Overview
We are seeking a Junior Project Manager to join our team in Calgary to support the planning, management, and execution of facilities-regulated maintenance programs across Canadian energy assets.
In this role, you will manage General Plant Maintenance Capital (GPMC) projects and process safety-critical equipment initiatives. You will take immediate ownership of active facilities projects and lead upcoming programs from the ground up, working closely with cross-functional teams in Operations, Engineering, and Project Controls.
Key Responsibilities
- Project Oversight: Supervise and manage GPMC projects for process safety-critical equipment, ensuring compliance with all regulatory and corporate standards.
- Project Execution: Immediately take ownership of 7 active projects in progress, with opportunities to manage current facilities projects from initiation through completion.
- Cost & Schedule Control: Collaborate with Project Controls to establish baseline schedules and spend forecasts for projects ranging from $400K to $1.5M in budget scope.
- Cross-Functional Leadership:
Serve as the primary point of contact bringing together internal stakeholders (Operations, Engineering) and external consultants/contractors.
- Field Alignment: Optimize and align field resources to support on-site implementation (includes occasional trips to field locations).
- Continuous Improvement: Identify data integrity improvements, process optimizations, and cost savings across facilities programs.
Must-Have Qualifications
- Canadian Energy Experience: Direct experience within the Canadian Oil & Gas sector is required (Midstream experience is strongly preferred).
- Facilities / Operations Background: Proven experience managing facilities projects (e.g., flow monitoring, gas storage facilities, compressor stations, or plant maintenance).
- Project Management Baseline: 2 to 5 years of project management, project coordination, or project engineering experience managing scopes between $400K – $1.5M.
- Financial & Forecasting Skills: Hands-on experience with spend forecasting, budget tracking, and execution scheduling.
- Strong Communication: Exceptional interpersonal skills with a proven track record of aligning cross-functional technical and field teams.
- Travel Flexibility: Willingness to undertake occasional field visits to project sites as needed.
