Position:

CAD Detailer – full time, permanent.

The CAD Detailer works within a small team and engages with various departments to provide accurate manufacturing drawings for the fabrication and assembly of a wide range of aluminum structures. The CAD Detailer is responsible for finalizing all components in the manufacturing design process.

KEY Responsibilities:

- Create and revise detailed drawings for projects (manufacturing & assembly drawings for all engineered products, parts, weldments and sub-assemblies) using Inventor, and AutoCAD
- Plan and organize assemblies, weldments, subassemblies, and parts within the BOM
- Resolve conflicts including: BOM inaccuracies, design conflicts, description inaccuracies, and improperly updated designs
- Maintain up-to-date library
- Troubleshoot and resolve design issues




- Support the resolution of technical issues from production, including tool and machine limitations, welding limitations, excessive procedures, drawing accuracies and standardization.
- Prepare assembly and installation instructions
- Participate in continuous improvement projects and communicate any opportunities for improvement
- Communicate with both internal and external teams, including Engineering and Design, Production Management, Sales and Project Management, and plant employees.
- Provide back up to CAD technicians
- Perform other duties as required

Skills & Experience:

- Minimum of 2 years experience in drafting engineered products, parts, weldments, and sub-assemblies (CAD Detailer, Mechanical Drafter, Structural Steel Detailer)
- Highly skilled in Inventor or SolidWorks, and AutoCAD
- Previous experience with BOM creation and management
- Previous experience working with metal parts and assemblies
- Previous experience with mechanical assemblies
- Superior attention to detail and accuracy
- Quality oriented
- Excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Excellent math skills including geometry
- Ability to work in a rapid-paced environment
- Strong organizational skills
- Intermediate computer skills including MS Office
- Ability to effectively multi-task
- Ability to work under pressure
- Must currently reside within 60kms of Paris, Ontario
