Description: Under the direction of the President, the intern will observe and assist with various projects assigned by the LOMA Agency team.
General responsibilities may include:
· Assisting with the planning and coordination of meetings and events
· Observing and supporting client intake and management
· Attending planning meetings as required
· Using Microsoft Office and Google Docs to create planning documents, templates and other materials
· Supporting event logistics and communications including BEOs, timelines, calendars, reports, diagrams
· Answering phones and transferring calls to appropriate staff
· Assisting with onsite event management and execution including set-up & break-down if required
Intern will gain and/or improve upon his or her:
· General communication and customer service skills
· Understanding of inner workings of an event marketing agency
· Understanding and knowledge of the strategic event marketing planning process
· Understanding of the end to end event marketing cycle
· Understanding of client intake procedures and exceeding client expectations
· Knowledge of logistical support requirements and standards
· Knowledge of conflict resolution and guest satisfaction
· Knowledge of catering operating procedures and event execution
· Ability to work in a fast-paced,
agile and mission-driven organization
· Ability to work with a variety of clients in different industries
Qualifications:
· Solid interpersonal, verbal (including phone work) and written communication skills
· Basic internet & computer processing skills including Microsoft Office & Google Docs
· Passion for and interest in the event marketing industry
· College coursework or comparable work experience preferred
Valid Passport and able to travel within Canada and the US
Physical Demands, including environment:
· While performing the duties of this job the employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, sit, climb stairs, balance, stoop or kneel.
· Some of the work of this position may be performed outdoors in varying climate conditions.
· May be required to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds
· May be required to travel to the United States and must therefore have a valid passport.
Compensation: $20 per hour
Time: This is a full-time internship (40 hours per week on average) to commence September 2026-June 2027 with a possibility to become a full time position.
Location: Hybrid: Monday in the office located at 33 Bloor Street East Toronto, ON M4W 3H1 and Tuesday-Friday working from home.
