Role Description The Millwork Shop Supervisor is a full-time, on-site role based in Mississauga, ON, responsible for overseeing daily operations of the millwork shop. This position leads and coordinates a team of craftspeople and machine operators, assigns work orders, monitors progress, and ensures projects are completed on time and to quality standards. The supervisor manages production scheduling, material flow, and equipment usage, while enforcing safety procedures and maintaining a clean, organized workspace. Day-to-day tasks include reviewing drawings and specifications, troubleshooting production issues, inspecting finished pieces, and communicating with project managers and other stakeholders. The role also involves coaching team members, supporting skills development,



and contributing to process improvements that enhance efficiency and reduce waste.

Qualifications

- Experience supervising a millwork, cabinetry, or woodworking shop, including coordinating staff, workflows, and production schedules.
- Strong knowledge of millwork fabrication processes, woodworking machinery, tools, and materials, with a commitment to safety best practices.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and work orders, ensuring accurate execution of project specifications.
- Proven skills in quality control, problem-solving, and troubleshooting production issues in a quick-paced environment.
- Effective communication and leadership skills, including coaching, performance feedback, and fostering a collaborative team culture.
- Organizational and time-management abilities to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Basic computer skills for production tracking, documentation, and email communication; familiarity with ERP or shop management software is an asset.
- Prior experience in custom millwork or architectural woodworking and knowledge of industry standards; trade certification or relevant technical training is an advantage.
- Physical ability to work in a shop environment, including standing for extended periods and handling materials in accordance with safety guidelines.
