Role Description The French Teacher role at Proficient Academy is a full time, on-site position based in Moncton, NB. The French Teacher will plan and deliver engaging French language lessons tailored to diverse learner needs, including school-age students, newcomers, and professionals. Day-to-day responsibilities include preparing lesson plans, teaching grammar, vocabulary, and conversation skills, assessing learner progress, and providing constructive feedback. The role also involves creating learning materials,
coordinating with the academic team to align teaching methods with organizational standards, and maintaining clear communication with learners and families about goals and outcomes. The French Teacher may support learners preparing for French language assessments such as TEF and TCF and contribute to continuous improvement of the curriculum.
Qualifications
- Strong skills in French Teaching and Tutoring, with the ability to adapt methods to different age groups and proficiency levels.
- Experience in Teaching and Education, including lesson planning, classroom management, and learner assessment.
- Background in Teacher Training or professional development in language education, with knowledge of current instructional best practices.
- Excellent spoken and written proficiency in French and English, with clear communication and interpersonal skills.
- Relevant post-secondary education in French, Education, Linguistics, or a related field; teaching certification is an asset.
- Demonstrated ability to work on-site, collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, and support the organization’s learner-focused mission.
- Experience preparing learners for standardized French language exams (e.g., TEF, TCF) is considered an advantage.
