Primary Responsibilities
- Preparation of engineering drawings, calculations, analyses, reports, and designs for electrical substations (low, medium, and high voltage).
- Working with Designers and CADD Technicians to develop drawings in accordance with national design standards, safety codes, and project specifications and requirements.
- Developing design deliverables including one-line diagrams, protection and control schematics, wiring diagrams, SCADA schemes, communications plans, substation physical layouts, material lists, conduit and cable sizing/routing, AC and DC system calculations and sizing, and substation grounding.
- Performing site visits during the design, construction, and as-built phases of projects.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
- Minimum of 2 years of Substation design experience in P&C; or physical design.
- Strong written and confident verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work in a team environment.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Self-motivated and ability to take initiative.
- Exposure to general Civil Engineering experience a plus.
- Prior experience in both P&C; and physical substation design considered a plus.
- Experience using AutoCAD and/or Microstation considered a plus.
- Prior experience consulting or working for an electric utility considered a plus.
- Experience using electrical design software such as SKM PowerTools, ETAP,
or EasyPower considered a plus.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering
- Engineer In Training (EIT) certificate
- Computer skills in Microsoft Office

Temporary and part‑time roles are eligible for limited benefits.) The pay range for Vancouver, BC: $75,548 - $102,212.
