Role Description
The Associate Financial Planner is a full-time, on-site role based in South Surrey, BC. This role supports senior advisors in delivering comprehensive financial planning services to clients, including gathering and analyzing financial information, preparing financial plans, and assisting with recommendations for investments, insurance, retirement, and estate strategies. The Associate Financial Planner will help manage client relationships by scheduling meetings, preparing reports and presentations, and responding to client inquiries. Daily responsibilities include maintaining accurate records in planning tools and CRM systems, monitoring plan implementation, executing trades, coordinating with product and service providers,
and ensuring compliance with regulatory and company standards. The role also involves staying current on market trends, tax changes, and financial planning best practices to support high-quality advice and client service.
Qualifications
- Strong foundational knowledge in Finance and Personal Financial Planning to analyze client situations and develop appropriate strategies.
- Insurance licensed or commitment to complete within 6 months of hire.
- Demonstrated skills in Financial Planning and Retirement Planning to support clients in achieving long-term goals.
- Progress toward, or completion of, a Certified Financial Planner (CFP) designation, or equivalent recognized financial planning credential.
- Post-secondary education in finance, business, economics, or a related field.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and time management skills, with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Clear and professional communication abilities, both written and verbal, with strong client service orientation.
- Ability to work collaboratively in an advisory team environment and handle confidential information with discretion.
- Comfort with financial planning software, CRM tools, and standard office applications; willingness to learn current systems.
- Accounting experience, preparing T1 income tax returns would be a strong asset
