Overview

Sandvik Mining is hiring a Field Service Millwright for Western Canada. The role supports Battery Electric mining equipment, performing maintenance, troubleshooting, and commissioning.

Responsibilities

- Maintenance and servicing of equipment and preparation of correct tools and parts.
- Commissioning of products including pre‑delivery inspections and on‑site hot commissioning.
- Conduct root cause analysis to identify and solve common problems.
- Identify components, understand basic functionality, and perform preventive and cost‑efficient repairs.
- Support customers by suggesting improvements and providing technical feedback.
- Complete maintenance reports, obtain customer authorization for invoicing, and enter data into databases.
- Assign simple tasks to junior staff and coach customer technicians.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards, perform risk assessments, and maintain hand tools and orderly work area.

Qualifications

- Red‑Seal Heavy Duty Mechanic/Industrial Mechanic (Millwright) license.
- Diploma in Mechanical or Electrical field.




- Minimum 3 years of related experience with mining equipment; experience with Sandvik equipment is an asset.
- Excellent proficiency reading schematics and diagnosing mechanical issues.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Computer literacy (MS Office).
- Valid driver’s licence and willingness to travel across Western Canada and for training in Europe (4–6 months).
- Ability and willingness to work varied shifts.
- Must be legally eligible to work in Canada.
