Job Description Summary

Cubic Transportation Systems is looking for an IT Professional to join a growing systems operations and administration team focused on server infrastructure and related technologies, Windows operating system and Active Directory deployment, administration/management, and optimization, site and system reliability, automation, configuration management, and security. The role includes providing server, storage, Windows, Active Directory, and related technology services for managed services and for customers, and contributing to the development of new platforms and services such as cloud services, converged systems, automation/orchestration, implementation of SaaS services, or DevOps transformations.

Responsibilities

- Provide technical services for a variety of computer environments, including server, storage, Windows, and Active Directory services.
- Contribute to a distributed team, communicating and collaborating with other groups.
- Support the development of new platforms and services such as cloud services, converged systems, automation/orchestration, implementation of SaaS services, and DevOps transformations.
- Participate in system monitoring and alerting, event management, and configuration management to ensure efficiency and accuracy.
- Utilize scripting and automation tools such as PowerShell, Ansible, and ServiceNOW orchestration to automate Windows OS deployment, package management, security, and updates.
- Manage storage, servers, infrastructure applications, data centers, security appliances, and systems management tools, ensuring remote manageability and prompt alerting.
- Maintain professionalism and timely responses in customer service interactions.

Qualifications

Required

- Four-year college degree in IT, computer science, or a related technical field.




- Minimum of four years systems administration or systems engineering experience.
- In-depth understanding of Systems Administration methodology and principles.
- Knowledge and experience administering a broad range of systems and networking context.
- Self‑motivator and professional communicator.

Preferred Skills/Experience

- Knowledge in administering Active Directory (AD) and related AD Services, developing standards, security procedures, and controls for access.
- Experience with server virtualization technologies, preferably VMware and/or KVM.
- Working knowledge of modern scripting languages and programming experience.
- Experience automating deployment and configuration of scale‑out systems on virtual platforms, cloud, or equivalent.
- Experience working for a managed service provider.
- Knowledge of High Availability technologies, approaches, and operations.
- Experience with application delivery controllers, monitoring tools, security tools, and infrastructure.
