The Canadian Public Safety Operations Organization (Can Ops) invites qualified candidates to apply for the Human Resources Consultant position at the Provincial Emergency Communications Centre (PECC) South location in Regina. This is an opportunity to support Saskatchewans newest Provincial Emergency Communications Centre while working closely with the HR Manager, operational leaders, and the PECC North HR team located in Prince Albert.
POSITION SUMMARY:
The HR Consultant provides human resources support to leaders and employees in a dynamic public safety environment with both unionized and non-unionized staff. This role supports employee and labour relations, recruitment and onboarding, performance management, policy interpretation, compliance, and workplace investigations.
The successful candidate will be required to travel frequently to the Prince Albert location. Can Ops will provide per diem for related travel, meals, and accommodation.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelors degree or diploma/certificate in HR or a related field.
Minimum of 5 years of progressive HR experience.
CPHR designation is considered an asset.
Clear CRC and other security clearances as required.
Experience supporting employee relations, labour relations, workplace investigations, performance management, and policy interpretation.
Experience working with unionized & non-unionized employee groups is considered an asset.
Knowledge of Saskatchewan employment laws & HR best practices.
Experience working in public safety, emergency services, or another operationally focused setting is considered an asset.
High proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
Solid verbal & written communication skills.
Adaptability & flexibility.
Ability to handle sensitive information and maintain confidentiality.
