The Personal Support Worker shall provide personal care and other services to residents in a protected and efficient manner in accordance with the policies and procedures of the Home.
Key Responsibilities:
Provides services and interacts with residents and resident family members in a qualified manner
Administer medication to residents
Complete all assigned paperwork
Participates as a member of the care team and provides support to the other members of the Services team
Observes and adheres to all policies and procedures, work standards and safety regulations
Assists and attends to care needs of the residents as required
Maintains work and storage areas in a clean, secure and sanitary manner
Aware of employees and supervisor’s responsibilities and follows all health and safety policies and procedures
Works safely to reduce the risk of injury to self, co-workers, and residents
Is alert to, remedies, and promptly reports all actual or potentially hazardous situations
Wears personal protective equipment (or clothing)
as required by task, MSDS, or home policy
Other related duties as assigned
Qualifications:
Education/Experience:
Previous experience in providing personal care
Post-secondary education in related care fields of PSW/HCA/ DSW certification
Must be able to read and communicate effectively and follow written and verbal instructions in English
Demonstrated empathy and understanding of the needs of seniors
Effective interpersonal relationship and conflict resolution skills
Ability to organize work and work under strict time constraints
Must have a high standard of hygiene and cleanliness
Must be able to respond to emergency situations appropriately
Must be able to stand for long periods of time and lift and carrying heavy items
Pay: $20.00-$22.00 per hour
Ability to commute/relocate:
Wardsville, ON: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)
