About the Job

We are hiring a Senior Health and Safety Advisor to step into a new role on our Health and Safety team on the Hazel McCallion LRT. This position reports to the Health and Safety Manager.

What You Will Be Doing?

- Ensures fulfillment of H&S; requirements at construction site, following health and safety (H&S;) plan in compliance with Company standards, customer requirements and Government regulations;
- Assists in preparation of weekly and monthly statistics H&S; reports;
- Provides assistance in the implementation and update of the health & safety plan
- Provides assistance in identification of risks and definition of control measures (through safe work procedure, Job Safety Analysis);
- Carries out and records regular safety checks and safety inspections;
- Provides assistance in Tool-box talks;
- Coordinates safety committee;




- Records and investigates accidents and incidents; performs Root Cause Analysis on H&S; issues;
- Coordinates health & safety aspects of site activities;
- Provides induction training and site-specific health & safety training;
- Coordinates required safety training on site;
- Assists in coordination First Aid rescue, First Aid responders and Fire Protection programs;
- Proposes immediate correction of H&S; deficiencies; checks if H&S; corrections from deficiencies are effective;
- Assists in ensuring ISO 45001 and COR programs are maintained at site;
- Supports execution of internal audits in construction sites and facilities and coordinates external audits;
- Coordinates with Workers Compensation as required;

What We Are Looking For?

- Proven experience as H&S; Senior Advisor
- Must have NCSO or Post-Secondary in Health and Safety and five years of H&S; related field experience, experience in Rail and Track works preferred.
- Valid qualifications in occupational health and safety
- Must be knowledgeable of H&S; Management Systems such as ISO 45001 and COR certification programs.
- Must have a strong understanding of the Ontario Occupational Health and Safety Act and Regulation and implementation in a construction environment.
- Must be proficient with MS Office (Outlook, Excel, Word and PowerPoint).
- Must have strong organization and record keeping skills
- Must have an uninhibited ability to stand, walk, bend, squat, push, pull,



reach and grasp
- Must have a Valid Class G Driver's License

Expected Compensation

Successful candidates chosen for this position can expect to earn between $100,000.00 CAD - $120,000.00 CAD. The exact salary you will earn within this range is dependant on the specific project to which you are assigned.
