Construction Site Safety Officer with Carpenter and Labour experience

We are currently seeking a reliable and safety-focused Construction Site Safety Officer with carpentry and site labour experience to join our team.

Responsibilities:
Implement and maintain a safe work workplace by monitoring site activities, identifying hazards, and recommending corrective actions.
Perform regular site inspections, hazard assessments, and provide guidance on secure tool and equipment operation.
Conduct safety orientations, safety meetings and subcontractor coordination
Ensure workers follow OH&S; regulations
Assist with carpentry and general construction duties as needed
Complete safety documentation and incident reporting
Additional safety training considered an asset, including WHMIS, Fall Protection, and related certifications.
Promoting a culture of job site safety, where safety is a shared responsibility
Preparing site safety plans,



conducting hazard assessments, incident investigations and risk assessments, as required
Ensuring all accidents, incidents and injuries are properly reported to all appropriate parties

Qualifications & Experience
Valid Level 3 First Aid certification
Carpentry/Site labour experience preferred
Valid Class 5 driver’s licence required
Valid CSO designation - Preferred
Knowledge of construction site safety procedures
Ability to enforce safety policies and maintain site compliance
Strong communication and teamwork skills
Reliable and dependable
