We're in the business of uplifting people, and every day, we create runways to new places and possibilities, building a better airport experience for everyone.The Team The facility maintenance team ensures the smooth operation of all spaces at a busy 24/7 airport, keeping terminals, offices, and other buildings protected, functional, and well-maintained. They handle repairs, HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems to support airport operations and passenger comfort. This team ensures safe, efficient, and reliable operations, supporting 24/7 airport activities and driving smart building initiatives.Responsibilities Lead the implementation of the automation and controls roadmap/program, supporting smart building initiatives and energy optimization, while serving as the subject matter expert for all controls and automation systems for Calgary Airports —guiding standards and net-zero efforts.Conduct technical investigations related to facility maintenance operations and infrastructure projects, support design and planning, and escalate complex issues as needed.Prepare/manage designs, specifications, and cost estimates for approved capital projects or maintenance operations/projects related to building automation and control systems (under the supervision of senior leader).Plan and deliver preventive and corrective maintenance operations related to Building Automation and Controls System, lead repairs,
and oversee lifecycle management of systems.Organize and execute construction and maintenance projects related to Building Automation and Controls System or related sections within capital or maintenance projects, ensuring functionality and compliance.Plan team assignments, coordinate with 3rd party controls and automation providers, and manage tenant integration into YYC base building infrastructure related to building and automation system.Implement predictive maintenance using IoT sensors and analytics to drive continuous improvement.Ensure all building and automation control systems maintenance and gas monitoring systems comply with safety, fire, mechanical codes, and all relevant standards.Qualifications You'll need to be eligible to obtain and maintain a RAIC; we'll help you through this. For more details, check out: RAIC Program and Application InformationBachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automation, Instrumentation and Controls Technology, or a related field. A combination of extensive experience and an electrical journeyperson certificate Red Seal (with Instrumentation and Controls certificate) OR Instrumentation and Controls Red Seal (with Electrical certificate)6–8 years of progressive experience in commercial and industrial Instrumentation and Controls automation (airport controls automation is an asset) with at least 2+ years of supervisory experience.Proven experience managing large-scale automation in critical infrastructure (airports, power plants,
industrial plants or similar).Extensive experience in using front end controls automation applications like enteliWEB (Delta Controls), Desigo (Siemens), or Metasys (JCI) or any other comparable applications.Strong knowledge of building automation, smart building systems, and regulatory standards.As this position is considered safety-sensitive, candidates must successfully complete pre-employment drug and alcohol testing as part of the hiring process.This role includes driving as part of its duties; therefore, candidates will be required to provide a valid Class 5 driver's license and a current driver's abstract as part of the hiring process.Assets Experience with IoT, AI integration, and smart building technologies.Bilingual in English and FrenchDiversity and Values We are committed to building a team where exceptional leadership shines and our crew thrives both at work and at home.
