Our client is seeking a Civil Structural Engineer to join their growing team in Sarnia, Ontario.

The organization has experienced significant growth in its engineering division, expanding rapidly to support a diverse portfolio of industrial projects across the refinery, petrochemical, chemical, utilities, and renewable energy sectors. Providing multidisciplinary engineering and design services ranging from bench‑scale studies through full commercial EPC execution, the company offers employees the opportunity to work on complex and impactful industrial projects.

What You’ll Be Doing:

- Perform civil and structural engineering design and analysis for industrial facilities.
- Develop practical, fit‑for‑purpose engineering solutions that meet applicable codes, standards, and client requirements.
- Conduct site visits, field assessments, and investigations as required.




- Support and mentor designers throughout the design process.
- Prepare and review:
- Structural calculations
- Design reports
- Technical specifications

- Review fabrication and construction drawings for accuracy and constructability.
- Collaborate closely with fabrication, construction, and multidisciplinary engineering teams to ensure successful project execution.

What You’ll Need to Be Successful:

- Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation with the ability to stamp engineering drawings and documents.
- Experience in civil and structural engineering within industrial environments.
- Bachelors degree in Civil or Structural Engineering
- Strong preference for experience supporting brownfield facilities in:
- Refining
- Oil & Gas
- Utilities
- Nuclear
- Chemical Processing

- Strong background in structural steel and reinforced concrete design.
- Brownfield plant experience is strongly preferred.
- Proficiency with RISA-3D.
- Experience preparing engineering calculations, reports, specifications, and construction packages.
- Experience reviewing fabrication and construction drawings.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively across engineering, fabrication, and construction teams.
- Ability to perform site visits within active industrial facilities.
