Become an integral part of the University of Toronto Mississauga as a Building Engineer. This role entails the operation and maintenance of utility equipment on campus, ensuring safety and efficiency.
Reporting to the Assistant Manager Utilities & Elevator Services, the Building Engineer plays a vital role in maintaining all utilities equipment. You will conduct inspections, perform maintenance tasks, and respond to emergencies to ensure a protected environment at UTM. Ideal candidates will possess a solid understanding of HVAC and other mechanical systems, along with effective communication skills.
Key Responsibilities:
• Conduct regular rounds of mechanical equipment and utilities services
• Perform maintenance and minor repairs on equipment
• Monitor building management systems for operational efficiency
• Respond to trouble calls during off hours
• Maintain daily logs of equipment operations and issues
Requirements:
• High School diploma and 3rd Class Operating Engineer Certification
• Minimum one year of relevant engineering experience
• Robust mechanical troubleshooting and diagnostic skills
• Basic knowledge of electrical systems and office software
• Excellent communication and customer service abilities
