In this permanent role, you will act as a Legal Counsel, directly supporting the Chief Justice and Chief Judge while handling complex legal issues. Supervise Senior Judicial Assistants and students as you navigate critical litigation matters that engage groundbreaking legal principles and frameworks.
Key Responsibilities:
Offer legal advice to Yukon Courts and judiciary
Engage with procedural and substantive legal matters
Supervise and guide judicial assistants and students
Collaborate closely with the Chief Justice and Chief Judge
Conduct independent legal research and analysis
Requirements:
Experience in litigation or solicitor law
Positive standing with Law Society of Yukon
Bilingual in English and French is a plus
Understanding of Yukon First Nations history
Ability to communicate effectively and professionally
