Empower individuals facing domestic abuse as a Community Support Navigator with the Kelowna Women’s Shelter. Your efforts will pave the way towards safer, abuse-free lives.
In this impactful role, you will engage with participants by providing crisis intervention, emotional care, and critical resource information. You will guide them through resilience-building processes and collaborate with community partners to facilitate comprehensive support. Your role as a first point of contact is vital in addressing urgent safety issues.
Key Responsibilities:
• Establish trust and maintain caseload of participants
• Provide immediate support for crisis and safety planning
• Answer incoming helpline calls compassionately
• Attend client-related appointments and support sessions
• Facilitate educational workshops on abuse awareness
Requirements:
• Human Services diploma or similar qualification
• Minimum 2 years related experience
• ASIST Training certification
• Knowledge of Response Based Practice
• Valid BC driver’s license and criminal record check
