Support individuals with vision loss in accessing vital disability benefits as a Navigator in GAIN Program at VLRC. Focus on application processes and connection to community resources.
In this full time role, you'll help clients apply for essential perks, including the Disability Tax Credit. Your advocacy and strong communication skills will play a crucial role in simplifying complex processes for individuals and families. Additionally, you will maintain relationships with healthcare providers to facilitate a comprehensive support network for your clients.
Key Responsibilities:
• Assist clients with understanding eligibility and completing forms
• Follow up on applications and support appeals
• Keep current on disability benefit updates and share insights
• Engage in quality improvement and client feedback initiatives
• Ensure thorough documentation in client health records
Requirements:
• 2+ years’ experience in healthcare or social services
• Diploma in Social Services or related field
• Exceptional communication and organizational skills
• Knowledge of cultural safety practices
• Familiarity with diverse populations and their needs
