The Opportunity

Our client is seeking a Staff Accountant to join their growing team. This role offers a mix of hands-on accounting work, client interaction, and exposure to a variety of engagements, making it ideal for someone looking to build on their public accounting experience in a cooperative workplace.

Key Responsibilities
Prepare year-end compilation engagements and support review and audit engagements
Perform bookkeeping and maintain accurate financial records for a portfolio of clients
Prepare and file GST/HST and other sales tax returns
Manage multiple engagements, tracking deadlines and outstanding client information
Communicate with clients to obtain required documentation and resolve discrepancies

Qualifications & Skills
University degree or college diploma in Accounting or related field
CPA designation is an asset; must be eligible or actively pursuing
2+ years of experience in a public accounting firm
Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel
Excellent written and verbal communication skills




High attention to detail with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
Experience with CaseWare, Taxprep, QuickBooks (Online/Desktop), and CCH iFirm is an asset
Bilingualism (English/French) is considered an asset
