THE OPPORTUNITY

Building Ontario Fund (BOF) is seeking a full-time Human Resources Intern. (This job posting represents an existing vacancy.)

PURPOSE OF POSITION

Accountable for supporting the effective delivery of People, Culture & Operations activities by coordinating projects, managing candidate, and meeting logistics, and preparing research and materials for HR initiatives. The role ensures smooth administrative operations across Talent Acquisition, Total Rewards, and organizational committees.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

- Coordinate projects in the People, Culture and Operations function including but not limited to arranging meetings, following up on action items, and taking minutes.
- Assist with the coordination of special Human Resources (HR) initiatives (e.g., employee engagement, etc.) by distributing communications and arranging logistics if required.
- Support the Talent Acquisition team by screening candidates, coordinating candidate communications, and scheduling interviews for a variety of roles.
- Provide support administrative assistance to the Total Rewards team in the implementation of advantages, compensation, and human resources information system (HRIS) related activities.
- Assist with the development of presentations/training sessions by gathering information and preparing relevant materials.
- Conduct research on various human resources topics (e.g., best practices, wellness, etc.) and prepares and presents reports on results.
- Provide support to People. Culture and Operations team and administrative support to various committees such as Joint Health & Safety Committee.




- Perform other duties as assigned by the Manager.

Qualifications

Education and Experience

- Completion of High School Diploma
- In pursuit of a College Diploma, Associate’s Degree or Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, or a related field
- No experience required.

Knowledge and Skills

- Knowledge of, and skills in administrative processes and procedures.
- Understanding of human resource functions (e.g., recruitment, compensation, etc.).
- Analytical skills to evaluate information and ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Research skills to identify and retrieve required information in support of HR programs.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills to complete work assignments within strict deadlines.
- Good interpersonal and customer service skills to deal with various levels of internal and external contacts.
- Excellent verbal, written and presentation skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive and highly confidential information.
- Ability to work independently and cooperatively with others in a team environment.
- Proven attention to detail for the formatting and preparation of quality products.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Teams.

Our office at 79 Wellington Street W, Toronto is steps from Union Station, with great dining and transit options.

As part of the Ontario Public Service, BOF requires employees to work in-office five (5) days/week. We believe in-person presence and collaboration strengthens culture and service delivery.

The expected salary for this role is CA$55,000 for candidates who meet the stated qualifications.
