Become a Health Care Aide at Selkirk Mental Health Centre, focusing on providing compassionate care and supporting patient daily living activities. This role emphasizes effective communication in a agile setting.
In this role, you'll work closely with patients under the supervision of the Health Services Manager, assisting with daily living tasks while promoting independence. Previous experience in mental health care or with individuals with cognitive challenges is preferred. You'll need a Health Care Aide course completion and robust adherence to SMHC's values.
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide support with activities of daily living (ADLs)
• Assist patients in achieving personal goals
• Communicate clearly and effectively with patients
• Manage simultaneous care demands
• Follow safety procedures and regulations
Requirements:
• Grade 10 or higher education
• Successful completion of a Health Care Aide program
• Knowledge of PHIA and hazardous materials information
• Capability to handle physical demands of the job
• Flexibility for various shift patterns
