This person will collaborate with McKesson Technology cross-functional teams to ensure the reliability, performance and scalability of application & infrastructure to meet business requirements.Key ResponsibilitiesStrategy & Governance:Develop and implement a multi-year observability strategy. Define enterprise standards for logging, metrics, and tracing, including forecasting telemetry volumes and licensing needs.Cross-Functional Leadership:Partner with engineering, data science, and security teams to embed observability throughout the software development lifecycle and incident response processes.Operational Excellence:Establish SLAs, improve MTTR, and leverage AIOps to automate monitoring and reduce alert fatigue.Financial Discipline:able to manage IT budget & investments to align with core business objectives and prevent unnecessary spending. Able to maintain yearly budget along with creating a realistic plan while controlling costs to avoid overruns.Vendor & Tool Management:Evaluate, select, and manage observability tools and vendors to ensure scalability, cost efficiency, and unified analytics across hybrid cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP).Leadership:Create a vision, clear direction, and strategy for the team; establish, manage, and coach the team to clear objectives and performance expectations; attract, motivate, develop,



and retain a highly-skilled workforce; constantly monitor and improve team efficiency, effectiveness, and impact; lead and enable enterprise-wide thinking in the team; create an environment that values employees, encourages cooperation, open communication, and teamwork; serve as a role model by demonstrating a commitment to McKesson i2CARE & iLEAD values, high-performance standards, workplace diversity, and driving results.Minimum RequirementsDegree or equivalent experience. Typically requires 12+ years of professional experience and 4+ years of management experience.Critical SkillsPlatform Management:Design, maintain, and optimize an enterprise-scale observability platform using a mix of SaaS tools (e.G., Dynatrace, LogicMonitor) and open-source technologies (e.G., Grafana, OpenTelemetry).Technical Expertise:Observability Fundamentals:Deep knowledge of logs, metrics, and traces.Tools:Hands-on experience with Dynatrace, LogicMonitor and OpenTelemetryCloud & Architecture:Strong understanding of cloud-native environments, containers, microservices, and KubernetesAutomation & Scripting:Proficiency in scripting (e.G., Python) and automation tools (e.G., Ansible,
