Job Overview

We are looking for a Project Account Technician to assist the Manager with internal reporting, financial statement preparation, and month‑end reports.

Location: Guelph, ON

Compensation: $55,000 – $70,000 per year

Key Responsibilities

- Manage invoices and project files from initial set‑up to project close.
- Understand the impact of project set‑up on revenue recognition and invoicing to identify issues.
- Prepare client invoices for assigned Project Managers in accordance with company procedures, client requirements, and contract terms.
- Partner with Project Managers to review project performance, translating and interpreting financial data between company and project currency, managing WIP and coordinating approvals from senior PMs or VPs as necessary.
- Perform maintenance on existing invoices (credits, reversals, write‑offs, etc.).
- Record payments received from clients to appropriate invoices, converting payment currencies to invoice currency when required.
- Review and approve recent projects and changes to existing project data entered in Microsoft Dynamics 365 from the Project Delivery group.
- Assist the Collection Administrator with collection activities for the assigned Project Managers in accordance with company collections guidelines.




- Assist Project Managers in creating and generating standard and custom reports.
- Maintain project billing schedules in conjunction with the Business Units.
- Understand information flow within Microsoft Dynamics 365 and its impact on project/job costing and the financial system to provide troubleshooting in invoicing, cash receipts, and collections.

Skills, Knowledge and Experience

- Post‑secondary education in business, accounting, or a related field.
- Minimum 2 years of Project Accounting experience.
- Comprehension of financial accounting and the accounting cycle.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite with a strong understanding of Excel.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to work independently and accurately in a fast‑paced environment.
- Strong attention to detail and time‑management skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a proven ability to deliver high‑quality customer service.
- Experience working in a multi‑company and multi‑currency environment.
- Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 is considered an asset.
