Support youth at Hull Services as a full time Night Counsellor, working awake overnight shifts. You will ensure safety, provide care, and foster a nurturing environment for children facing mental health challenges.
This temporary 12-month role offers essential support within a therapeutic campus. As part of the Pre-adolescent Treatment Program, you will assist in supervising children aged 5–12, applying crisis intervention, and modeling positive behaviors. You will engage youth in treatment plans, ensuring a secure and structured setting conducive to healing.
Key Responsibilities:
• Ensure the physical security of the program
• Conduct routine rounds for child safety and program order
• Attend to children’s physical needs and medical requirements
• Manage crises with Therapeutic Crisis Intervention
• Facilitate intakes and maintain bed plans
Requirements:
• Degree or diploma in Human Services or Social Sciences
• Experience in therapeutic care or congregate settings
• Ability to engage and build therapeutic relationships
• Knowledge of Truth and Reconciliation Commission principles
• Explicit background checks required prior to employment
