As a Wildfire Operations Officer, you’ll manage the Provincial Wildfire Coordination Center and work with various stakeholders to ensure productive wildfire readiness. With over six years of experience, your leadership will support effective decision-making during critical wildfire events. You will also engage in the mobilization of firefighting staff vital to Nova Scotia’s safety.

Key Responsibilities:
• Lead coordination of wildfire management staff mobilization
• Direct daily operations at the Provincial Wildfire Coordination Center




• Update work plans for wildfire suppression and reclamation
• Develop and maintain the Incident Management Team
• Represent Nova Scotia in wildfire operations

Requirements:
• Completion of forestry technician diploma program
• At least 6 years of wildfire management experience
• Proven leadership during stress situations
• S-490 Advanced Wildland Fire Behaviour certification
• Experience with Incident Command System staff roles
