Job Summary

Responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures—including process lines, lighting, and pumps. Work must comply with the Ontario Electrical Safety Code and other applicable building codes. Knowledge of Priva or other greenhouse control systems is desirable.

Role and Responsibilities

- Assemble, install, test, and maintain electrical wiring, equipment, appliances, apparatus, and fixtures using mechanical lift systems and hand/power tools.
- Diagnose malfunctioning systems, apparatus, and components with test equipment and hand tools, identify root causes, and correct problems.
- Install circuit breakers, transformers, or other components.
- Inspect electrical systems, equipment, and components to identify hazards and ensure code compliance.
- Test electrical systems and continuity using devices such as ohmmeters, voltmeters, and oscilloscopes.
- Maintain an active electrician’s license or identification card per governmental regulations.
- Plan layout and installation of electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures based on job specifications and local codes.
- Direct and train workers on installing, maintaining, or repairing electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures.
- Prepare sketches or follow blueprints to determine wiring locations and ensure compliance with building and safety codes.
- Use a variety of tools and equipment, including power construction tools, measuring devices,



and testing equipment such as oscilloscopes, ammeters, and test lamps.
- Install ground leads and connect power cables to equipment such as motors.
- Perform business management duties, including maintaining records, preparing reports, and ordering supplies and equipment.
- Work from ladders, scaffolds, roofs, and power equipment to install, maintain, or repair electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures.
- Run or bend conduit inside partitions, walls, or concealed areas, pulling wires or cables to complete circuits.
- Construct and fabricate parts using hand tools and specifications.
- Perform physical tasks, such as digging trenches and moving or lifting heavy materials and equipment.
- Provide preliminary sketches and cost estimates for materials and services.
- Offer emergency power assistance to Powerhouse Management by operating generators and backup lighting.

Qualifications and Education Requirements

- Minimum 3 years of proven experience as an electrician or in a similar role.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Excellent customer service skills, both internal and external.
- Strong analytical and diagnostic skills with clear and concise communication of findings.
- Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Must complete a background check prior to starting work.
- Legal eligibility to work in Canada at the time of an offer is required.
- Candidates must be flexible to travel to the Cayuga, ON facility as needed.

Pay Rate: CAD $40.00 per hour, DOE
