Become a Teacher at The Nature School with TRCA and guide children through outdoor learning experiences. Deliver engaging lessons that merge curriculum with nature exploration.
This temporary role allows you to work with a agile team of educators, teaching children between the ages of 4 to 11 using the Ontario Curriculum. You'll be responsible for lesson planning and executing educational programs, mentoring staff, and ensuring the safety of all students during outdoor activities.
Key Responsibilities:
• Evaluate and record student performance and achievements
• Provide a safe learning environment for young children
• Develop and implement current educational programs at various sites
• Lead excursions that encourage hands-on learning
• Assist in marketing and outreach efforts for programs
Requirements:
• University degree in Education, Biology, or Environmental Studies
• Minimum 4 years of teaching experience in relevant settings
• Valid Ontario Certified Teacher designation
• Experience with Forest School teaching methods
• Robust skills in communication and task prioritization
