Personal Lines Underwriter

Location: Calgary, AB (Hybrid/On-site)

Our client, a well-established and growing insurance organization, is seeking a Personal Lines Underwriter to join their Calgary team. This is an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented and relationship-driven underwriting professional looking to work with a collaborative and high-performing group.

The Opportunity

In this role, you will be responsible for underwriting and managing a portfolio of personal lines business, ensuring profitability while delivering exceptional service to broker partners. You will play a key role in risk assessment, pricing, and building strong broker relationships.

Key Responsibilities
Underwrite recent and renewal personal lines business in accordance with company guidelines
Evaluate risk exposures and determine appropriate pricing and coverage terms
Maintain and grow solid relationships with brokers and internal stakeholders
Provide technical underwriting support and guidance to brokers
Monitor portfolio performance and identify opportunities for growth and improvement
Ensure compliance with underwriting standards and regulatory requirements





Qualifications
2+ years of personal lines underwriting experience
Strong knowledge of personal auto and property products
CIP designation (or working towards) is considered an asset
Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
Strong analytical skills with attention to detail
Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
