Position: Climate Data Scientist

Referral Partner: Crossing Hurdles

Type: Hourly Contract

Compensation: $50–$60/hour

Location: Remote

Commitment: 10–40 hours/week

Role Responsibilities

- Develop and refine climate analysis tasks involving environmental databases, geophysical datasets, and climate model data.
- Create detailed evaluation rubrics to assess AI performance in scientific and environmental data interpretation.
- Collaborate asynchronously with global experts to validate AI outputs in the context of real-world climate research.
- Design scenarios that test model understanding of environmental systems, data modeling, and predictive analysis.





Requirements

- PhD in Climate Science, Earth Science, Environmental Science, Geophysics, Atmospheric Science, or a related discipline from a top university in the U.S., U.K., Canada, Australia, or Current Zealand.
- Strong professional research experience in climate or environmental data analysis.
- Experience with environmental databases such as NOAA, EPA, EIA, USGS, or NASA Earth Data.
- Excellent analytical, writing, and communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to produce scientifically accurate content.
