Make a difference as a Primary Counsellor with The Salvation Army. Provide essential support through individual and group counseling while fostering independence and recovery among clients.
This role involves direct interaction with clients, offering guidance and creating personalized case management strategies. You will engage in crisis intervention, develop essential interpersonal relationships, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team. The role requires solid organizational skills and expertise in violence against women and children, all within a faith-based framework.
Key Responsibilities:
• Counsel clients individually and in group settings
• Develop and implement client case management plans
• Maintain documentation of client progress
• Liaise with external agencies for client support
• Facilitate group sessions and encourage attendance
Requirements:
• Bachelor of Social Work or equivalent experience
• Knowledge of crisis intervention techniques
• Solid communication and counseling skills
• Commitment to anti-racism and anti-oppression
• Valid Class 'G' Driver’s License and certifications
