Join UOSU as a Junior Advocate, dedicated to fostering student rights and academic awareness. This full time role involves client intake, advocacy initiatives, and outreach programs.
In this position, you will report to the Director of Programs, focusing on student rights and supporting various advocacy projects. The Junior Advocate is expected to engage with students through outreach campaigns and coordinate internal operations to ensure effective service delivery. You'll also conduct intake interviews and manage administrative tasks for the Centre.
Key Responsibilities:
• Conduct client intake and triage for academic rights
• Manage appointments and general inquiries at the Centre
• Develop and implement outreach educational programs
• Create and maintain communication materials for advocacy
• Engage with student volunteer support for advocacy work
Requirements:
• Diploma in a relevant field
• Must be bilingual in English and French
• Robust communication and interpersonal skills
• Knowledge of academic policies and human rights
• Experience in advocacy campaign development
