Sous Chef

In this role, you will assist the Head Chef in the daily kitchen operations, including menu planning, food preparation, and overseeing kitchen staff. You will ensure the highest quality of food and presentation, maintain kitchen hygiene and safety standards, and contribute to creating innovative and delicious dishes. Responsibilities
Lead the culinary team in the chef’s absence.
Provide guidance to junior employees on line cooking, food preparation, and dish plating.
Oversee and organise kitchen stock and ingredients; maintain a first‑in, first‑out system.
Assist the Head Chef with inventory management and menu creation.
Ensure food storage units meet standards and are consistently well‑managed.
Keep cooking stations stocked, especially before and during prime operation hours.
Provide ongoing training, coaching, and supervision to staff in accordance with Tyax Lodge & Heliskiing standards.
Supervise food preparation and presentation to ensure quality standards.




Work with the Head Chef to maintain kitchen organisation, employee capability, and training opportunities.
Verify that storage units meet standards; oversee staff meal programme.
Assist in reducing and reporting on food and labour costs.
Responsible for company property including products, equipment, fixtures and assets.
