Become a vital part of Minnesota's child welfare support system. As an Assistant Deputy General Counsel, you will shape legal strategies for Child Safety and Permanency programs with a hybrid work model.
In this full time Staff Attorney 3 role at the Department of Children, Youth, and Families, you will be pivotal in providing legal counsel for critical child welfare policies and programs. Leveraging your JD and extensive legal experience, you will advise on state and federal laws while ensuring compliance with Minnesota’s regulations. This position calls for someone who is proactive and can navigate the complexities of child welfare legal frameworks effectively.
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide legal analysis on state and federal laws • Research and advise on Child Safety and Permanency issues • Draft and negotiate technical contracts and agreements • Assist in developing enforceable grant programs • Serve as Minnesota Government Data Practices designee
Requirements: • JD degree from an ABA accredited law school • Current Minnesota law license in positive standing • 5 years of legal practice experience • 1 year in a leadership role • Experience with the Minnesota Government Data Practices Act
