Role Description The Registered Early Childhood Educator is a full-time, in office role based in Ottawa, ON. In this position, the educator designs and implements developmentally appropriate, Montessori-aligned learning activities that support children’s cognitive, social, emotional, and physical growth. Daily responsibilities include supervising children, maintaining a safe and inclusive classroom environment, observing and documenting children’s progress, and preparing learning materials. The educator collaborates with colleagues and families, communicates children’s development and needs, and participates in staff meetings and professional development. The role also involves supporting healthy routines, such as transitions, snacks, rest time, and outdoor play.

Qualifications




Solid interpersonal skills and the ability to build positive, respectful relationships with children, families, and colleagues.
Knowledge of early childhood development and experience working with children in a licensed childcare or school setting.
Creativity skills to design engaging, child-centered learning experiences aligned with Montessori principles.
Organization skills to manage classroom routines, maintain documentation, and prepare learning environments effectively.
Registered Early Childhood Educator (RECE) in good standing with the College of Early Childhood Educators, or equivalent provincial certification.
Understanding of Montessori education or willingness to learn and apply Montessori-based practices.
Training in child safety, first aid, and CPR, with a explicit background check and vulnerable sector screening.
Ability to follow licensing regulations, health and safety standards, and school policies while supporting an inclusive, diverse learning environment.
