The City of Penticton is hiring a Relief Bylaw Enforcement Officer to enforce community bylaws and educate the public. This hands-on role centers around maintaining public safety.
Working closely with the Bylaw Services Manager, the Relief Bylaw Enforcement Officer conducts inspections, engages with the public, and addresses bylaw violations in various community settings. Responsibilities include walking and biking patrols, managing customer issues, and compiling reports. Solid interpersonal skills and conflict resolution abilities are crucial.
Key Responsibilities:
• Conduct investigations for bylaw compliance
• Educate the public on municipal regulations
• Patrol parks and public spaces regularly
• Work with safety agencies for issue resolution
• Provide training for current enforcement officers
Requirements:
• Minimum 1 year experience in a municipal role
• Completion of Grade 12 with relevant certifications
• Valid B.C. Driver’s License
• Superior problem-solving and decision-making skills
• Ability to work diverse shifts, including weekends
