Overview
Provide assessment and therapeutic counselling to individuals, couples, families, and groups to support mental health and wellbeing. Use evidence-based approaches and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver client-centred care.

Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive psychosocial and clinical assessments to determine client needs, strengths, and risk factors.
- Develop, implement, and monitor individualized treatment plans using evidence-based therapeutic modalities.
- Provide individual, couples, family, and group counselling and specialized therapy sessions.
- Perform crisis intervention and risk management, including safety planning and timely escalation when required.
- Maintain accurate and timely client records, progress notes, and reports consistent with professional standards and confidentiality requirements.
- Collaborate with physicians, social workers, community agencies, and other service providers to coordinate referrals and continuity of care.
Qualifications
- Post-secondary diploma or degree in counselling, psychology, social work, or a related therapeutic discipline.
- Minimum of two years of clinical experience providing counselling or specialized therapies in a health or community setting.
- Eligibility for registration or membership with an appropriate provincial regulatory or professional body where applicable.
- Training or demonstrated competence in evidence-based therapeutic approaches (for example cognitive-behavioural, trauma-informed, or family therapy modalities).
- Current and satisfactory vulnerable sector/criminal record check as required for work with vulnerable populations.
- Proficiency in maintaining electronic client records, strong written documentation skills, and effective verbal communication.
