Join the South Okanagan Women in Need Society as a Women's Support Worker, providing crucial crisis intervention and emotional support in a group housing setting. This casual role focuses on women at risk of abuse and their children.
As a Women’s Support Worker, you will identify client needs and create individualized intervention plans. Your responsibilities include providing safety planning, skill-building, and information about available resources for survivors of abuse. This role is pivotal in fostering a supportive workplace and facilitating public education initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
• Identify and assess client needs and risks in a residential setting
• Develop and implement short-term intervention plans
• Provide crisis intervention and emotional support to clients
• Assist women in accessing housing and community resources
• Participate in public education and violence prevention activities
Requirements:
• Diploma in a related human or social service field
• Valid Standard First Aid & CPR Level C Certification
• Non-Violent Crisis Intervention Training (NVCI)
• Valid Class 5 driver’s license with acceptable abstract
• Commitment to an inclusive and equitable workplace
