Responsibilities
Facility Maintenance: Ensure the cleanliness of production floors, workstations, and surrounding areas by sweeping, mopping, and removing debris.
Waste Disposal: Collect, sort, and dispose of scrap metals, chemicals, and other industrial waste in compliance with safety and environmental regulations.
Support Production Team: Assist with minor tasks such as transporting materials, cleaning equipment, and organizing workspaces.
Chemical Spill Response: Assist in cleaning up minor chemical spills and reporting larger spills or safety hazards to supervisors immediately.
Tools and Equipment Care: Clean and maintain tools, ensuring they are stored properly and ready for use.
Safety Compliance: Follow all safety guidelines and wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times.
Documentation: Keep records of cleaning schedules and report any maintenance needs or hazards to supervisors.
Education and Certifications
Must be a current student enrolled in high school, trade school, or a post-secondary institution.
Qualifications
Prior experience in an industrial setting is a plus, but not required. This role provides training and exposure to the steel pickling process.
Basic Understanding of Safety Procedures: Knowledge of basic industrial safety practices is preferred but not required. Training will be provided.
Physical Ability: Must be able to perform physical tasks, including lifting heavy objects (up to 50 lbs), standing for long periods, and working in a noisy, industrial setting.
Team Player: Robust communication skills and the ability to work well with a team.
Attention to Detail: Must be diligent in maintaining a clean and organized workspace.
