Sinai Health is looking for an Orthopaedic Technician Assistant to support our Department of Surgery - Division of Orthopaedics (Fracture Clinic) at our Mount Sinai Hospital Campus.

Our Orthopaedic Surgery Division surgeons specialize in musculoskeletal oncology, sports medicine, and lower extremity reconstruction. As a teaching institution, the majority of our Fracture Clinics are run by Orthopaedic Clinical Fellows who see a lot of trauma.

In This Role You Will
Utilize your robust clinical skills in the assistance of the application and removal of casting materials; cast checks; limb monitoring; and the maintenance and application of traction equipment
Assist with all aspects of Orthopaedic Surgery care including :
Aseptic technique
Complex dressing changes
Custom knee bracing
Hip abduction bracing
Custom Thermoplastic Splinting
All the different types of casts including specialized casting such as cast bracing X-ray interpretation
Perform other duties consistent with the job classification as required

Job Requirements

Mandatory




Successful completion of a college diploma in a related field from an accredited educational institution
1 year of related academic/ training experience
Successfully registered with the Canadian Society of Orthopaedic Technologists (CSOT)

Preferred
Training within a clinic/ health environment
