Join Stonehenge Therapeutic Community as a Community Withdrawal Support Counsellor in the Guelph-Wellington area. Provide crucial support for clients experiencing substance withdrawal and enhance community resources.
This full time, contract role focuses on aiding individuals with concurrent disorders through their withdrawal phase in various community settings. You will perform home visits, offer educational support, and collaborate with primary care providers to strengthen their capacity to assist clients. Your role will emphasize direct support and crisis intervention, employing effective counseling techniques to empower clients and their families.
Key Responsibilities:
• Screen clients and complete intake procedures
• Develop and monitor withdrawal support plans




• Provide 1:1 supportive counseling interventions
• Facilitate crisis intervention and referrals to services
• Support Rapid Access Addiction Medicine Clinic activities
Requirements:
• BSW or relevant degree plus 2 years experience
• Expertise in addiction and withdrawal services
• Valid G Driver’s License and reliable vehicle
• Standard First Aid/CPR Level C certification
• CSC Clearance by PWGS Canada
